VERBAL VIOLENCE ,  2019

Introduction

This art installation project aims to explore the widespread yet concealed social phenomenon of verbal abuse in a profound and unique way. The harm caused by verbal abuse is often invisible; it does not manifest as physical injuries but leaves indelible scars deep within the victim’s psyche, wounds that are difficult to heal. Through this installation, I hope to give tangible form to this hidden pain. The damage inflicted by verbal abuse far exceeds our usual understanding and awareness, acting like an invisible wound etched deep into people’s hearts and minds. I aspire to use this installation to raise awareness about the impact of verbal abuse and encourage collective efforts to reduce this intangible harm.

Interactive Process The audience uses a pen suspended by a fishing line to throw it toward a foam board. When the pen tip strikes the surface of the board, the ink leaves marks that symbolize the scars verbal abuse imprints deep within a person’s heart and mind.
